Congratulations, Dame Barbara!

Barbara Monroe, Chief Executive of St. Christopher’s Hospice in London has been appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday 2010 Honours List. SWHPN congratulates Dame Barbara Monroe on her well-deserved achievement and on her many years of service providing quality and compassionate palliative care.

On the announcement of the award, Monroe said;

“I am thrilled and proud to receive this award. It recognises the importance of good care at the end of life for everyone and the significance of the work that hospices nationally and internationally do to achieve this.”

Barbara Monroe has been a social worker for 30 years and Chief Executive of St. Christopher’s for 10 years.
