I would like to present my abstract as a symposium, however I do not know of any other abstracts being presented to pair with for the required 3 presentations submitted by one organizer. May the organizers group my abstract with others of like thought for a symposium? Or is it best I submit the abstract as an oral paper?

Abstract theme is either “A Good Life…A Good Death”, or “Thinking Through Life…a series of Life and Death’s Important Conversations”

Thanks for this question and the opportunity to clarify. Symposium are for Individuals who have already identified other individual(s) who are willing to present on the symposium theme. If you submit an individual abstract the program committee will group you with one or two others related to your topic to present in a one hour slot. Since you are not sure of others who could present on your topic it is appropriate for you to submit an abstract as an oral paper and/or a poster presentation. Helpful conversations about life and death with patients and/or families during serious and terminal illness is an important topic.

    thanks
